At the foot of the glorious South Downs, this 1765 Restaurant With Rooms combines excellent cuisine (2 AA rosettes), award-winning wine lists (over 600 labels) and superior rooms (AA 4 red diamonds).
With three open fires, massage (on availability) and great walking, relaxation is key.
Enjoy local, organic and seasonal specialities in the two-rosette restaurant (with piano on Saturday nights) or more relaxed bar area.
All nine en suite rooms have floorboards and rugs, large bath robes, firm super-king beds, five-channel TV, CDs and radiator heating. Some have power showers, others have baths. A deluxe continental breakfast hamper is served to your room. The two 'champagne rooms' also have a sofa, wide flat-screen TVs, DVD, Video players, and a fridge.
